This will be my first official blog post and I am very excited. I can’t wait to see what 2017 has to offer.
I plan to blog about anything and everything, choosing a new topic weekly. This may include 1 or many projects, depending on how things progress. I welcome your ideas, helpful hints and suggestions on topics or projects.
This week we are trying to dig our way of the snow that Mother Nature graced us with! It is a new year after all…
This year, we have received a lot of snow in a very short time but hey, we live in Canada so what can you expect eh? What we did on our Christmas holiday? We cleaned the yard!
I really cannot complain. All this snow means we get out the snow shoes and get outside to enjoy nature and all its beauty.
Our puppies really love being outside so the snow doesn’t bother them at all.
One thing that I found made a difference was a set of walking sticks or ski poles that add stability on the uneven terrain. I am slightly clumsy so it made a world of difference for me.
The former educator in me tells me that all the snow also offers a great indoor sensory, science (freezing and melting) and learning activity for the kids. Just add some snow into a large bin, add scoops, bowls or little buckets and VOILA… an instant activity! You could extend it by adding some arctic animals and have a mini arctic habitat!
Well that is it for today! Stay tuned for my next post!
