This recipe for Sinful Sugar Cookies is hands down, the BEST sugar recipe. It will be the last sugar recipe that you will ever need! The search is over! Save this one folks!!! These cookies are moist and chewy and worth every calorie! These would be a great treat for the family on special occasions, a bake sale, even a house warming gift!
The original recipe comes from a blog named Created by Diane. I discovered this website on Pinterest. Her website is definitely one to check out.
Here is what you will need for this sugar cookie recipe. (see below for full recipe)
- butter (softened)
- vanilla extract
- baking powder
First, you will need to cream together the sugar and butter. Once creamed, add in vanilla and the egg. Blend in the flour, baking powder and salt. Once it is all combined it will create a large ball.
For this batch, I baked the sugar cookies 2 different ways. I wanted to observe if one way was quicker and easier than the other but also to verify if one baked more evenly. The first batch I took one tablespoon of cookie dough and rolled it into a ball and placed them on my stone baking tray from The Pampered Chef.
Before placing them into the oven, I pressed down on each cookie with a fork.
This batch took 9 minutes to bake and the preparation was very quick and easy.
Next i took the time to take small batches of dough and rolled them out with a rolling pin, then proceeded to cookie cut them out and place them onto the stone baking tray.
One excellent element of this dough is that once it is rolled out and you have cut out your cookies, the dough scraps roll up easily into the next ball, so there is no waste.
These cookie took 7-9 minutes to cook. I started checking them at 7 minutes because they were not all the same thickness. I suppose that this is user error! I simply don’t have patience and skill to master it!
This process took quite a bit longer and I feel like, unless you have time to perfect the rolling out and cookie cutting process, it was way easier to use the tablespoon method!
Regardless of which process you prefer, both batches of cookies were absolutely mouth-watering! They are just so light, moist and chewy!
You can always package them up in a pretty fashion to share with friends and family.
Or simply leave out for the family to discover!
The real trick is trying to keep your hands out of the cookie jar!!!!!
