I am so excited that it’s a time of year that we can go out and explore the world around us. I love it SO much, as long as you are not being eaten alive by bugs that is, that I am creating a Spring Nature Series in the hopes that you too will enjoy.
Since I have already posted 1 post regarding an outdoor excursion, this post will become Part 2. I plan on making this a regular post each week. These posts will be picture heavy and will also include some videos as well. The pictures will be unfiltered and other than a few crops to zoom in and magnify certain aspects, they will be unedited!
My goal is to remind people that getting outside and being in nature is great for the mind, body and spirit! I believe that our fast paced society has forgotten that beauty is all around us. We just need to stop and see it!
Lets get to the pictures.
We drove into a section of property that remains partially flooded largely due to a creek that develops in the Spring each year. We decided today, to try and get to the top of the creek to see where it originates. These are the images that came about, during our climb.
This is the lower portion of the creek where we entered.
I am fascinated by the exposed complex root system!
Some new evergreens beginning to bud.
The scale and magnitude of the trees is breathtaking!
Sorry for the shadow in this one. Check out the mushrooms!
Then I found THIS GIANT ONE!!
I always dislike seeing fallen trees, however, I am comforted that it shelters and feeds other smaller critters. The old becomes new again!
Nature is resilient as demonstrated by the greenery growing on the bark of a tree.
Does anyone else see a mossy rabbit??
Wonder who lives here?
Looks like a fallen mossy rock graveyard!
As we climbed upwards, we ended up at a cliff face. We ventured as far up as we could to get a closer look.
We followed the creek up and discovered where is came out. One truly fascinating thing is the sound of the water bubbling UNDER US. Check out this video…
And now we meander down the mountain again…
Once we made it down the mountain, it was time to make our way out so we could move on to our next spot. WE GOT WET AGAIN FOLKS!
SO MUCH FUN! We went to another known spot on the property to check out one more spot!
Crystal clear water…
And more little waterfalls. LOVE IT!!
I hope you have the opportunity to stop and smell the roses and rediscover nature and all its beauty. Where do you go to get out into nature??
Until my next post,
