Vanilla Pound Cake

Moist, buttery and delicious are the words I would use to describe this Vanilla Pound Cake Recipe! I discovered this recipe on Pinterest from a website named LOVEFOODIES. There, you will find a plethora of yummy recipes. This is just one of many. 

This pound cake is quick to prepare and bakes in about one hour, low and slow! It is absolutely worth it! I baked mine in a bundt cake pan because I really love how it presents itself once baked! The same instructions will apply if you bake it in a loaf pan as well. 

The baking instructions from the original website are detailed and specific. I, however, threw everything into a bowl, in no specific order and baked it! It turned out BEAUTIFULLY!

Here is what you need to make this super yummy Vanilla Pound Cake. (See printable recipe below)

Vanilla Pound Cake

  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs 
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups flour 
  • 1  tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Set your oven to 300°F. Combine all the ingredients into a bowl.

Mix well until combined.

Add the combined mixture into a baking dish of your choice, I chose a bundt cake pan. Please adjust your cooking time according to the size of the baking dish. For example, this batter in a muffin tin will take a much shorter time to bake than a loaf or bundt baking dish.

Place into the oven and bake for 55-65 minutes. As all ovens are not the same, I began checking mine at 45 minutes and it was fully baked in 60 minutes. A fully baked cake requires the internal temperature to be above 200°F. You can also do a toothpick test by inserting the toothpick into the center of the cake and it will come out clean.

Remove from the baking dish onto a cooling rack after about 10 minutes out of the oven. Golden Perfection!

Let cool before cutting.

Serve warm with a cup of coffee! HEAVEN! This would also be delicious alongside some fruit, ice cream, a drizzle of raspberry coulis or just the naked cake!

Ingredients
  • ¾ cup softened butter

Instructions
  1. Set your oven to 300°F.
  2. Combine all the ingredients into a bowl.
  3. Mix well until the batter is well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into a baking pan (loaf, bundt).
  5. Place into the oven and bake for 55-65 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool a few minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.
  7. Serve either solo or with fruit, fruit coulis or ice cream and enjoy!
